Sustainability Awards Shortlist

The Sociable Weaver Shortlisted at the 2026 Sustainability Awards

We've been shortlisted in two categories at the 2026 Sustainability Awards: Sustainable Architecture Practice of the Year, and Sustainable Builder/Developer of the Year.

The pairing says something about how we work. Our architects and the Martin Builders construction team operate as one business, so the decisions made at the drawing board, about orientation, insulation, airtightness and materials, are carried through to site by the same people who made them. Nothing gets lost in a handover between designer and builder.

For every home we design and build, we complete a Life Cycle Assessment using Cerclos' RapidLCA tool to measure our impact on the planet by assessing the carbon footprint of the home. Compared with a `Business as Usual' home of the same size, Solara for example, is expected to emit 327 tCO2e less than the average or standard building providing the same functionality. This is equivalent to planting 1962 trees, taking 71 cars off the road, building 44 zero energy Australian homes or removing 12,120,582 balloons of CO2 gas from the atmosphere.

Winners are announced on 12th November. Thank you to our clients, trades and suppliers, whose work sits behind both nominations.
